-
The Rating C is rarely used but is for 3 and up. Also games that are rated C are rarely ever made anymore.

.

- The rating K-A is the same thing as everyone but was used instead of everyone before 1998. This is for anyone over the age of 6. So this wont be shown on newer releases..

- The rating " E " is for age groups 6 and older." E " stands for "Everyone" meaning everyone who plays games can play this. This is like the G and PG rating for movies. Most E games will never have any blood and just action elements and simple violence at the most.

- The rating " T " is for ages 13 and older. The rating " T " stands for "Teen". This is like the PG-13 rating for movies. Most of the games in the industry are teen rated so this is what you will be seeing a lot. Teen games usually have some blood in it, violence, violent scenes, but never to the extreme.

- The rating " M " is for ages 17 and older." M " stands for "Mature". This is just like the R rating for movies. The game will be rated "Mature" because the game might have too much gore and blood. There can also be profanity, sexual themes/elements, violence, and most of the things that little kids shouldnt see..

The rating "RP" means not rated. It stands for "Rating Pending" A game will receive this rating when it is still in its developmental stage and ESRB is still unsure about what to give the game.

The rating " A " is for ages 18 and older. It stands for "Adult". There are very few Adult games and you will most definitely never find them in normal video game stores. There are no Adult rated video games though, but there are a few Adult rated computer games.
