Rayman Origins hit the shelves late last year to the joy and elation of fans all over the world. The game not only marked the return of Rayman creator Michel Ancel but the return to the classic Rayman style of play – beautiful, 2D animation and challenging gameplay. I was watching Direct TV when I saw the ad and being the rabid Rayman fan that I am, I couldn’t resist talking about it.

For those of you who don’t know, Rayman has no limbs. Sure he has a head, a torso, two hands and two feet that all seem to just float and hover where it’s proportionally correct but nothing connects these extremities. That’s okay, though, because it allows Rayman to literally throw his punches at enemies at a distance, and it’s precisely this level of whimsy and imagination that makes the Rayman franchise so popular. Those who remember the early days of Rayman will find more in common with this game than they realize as it serves more as a reboot AND a proper sequel, but newcomers to the series won’t feel left out.

Ancel’s genius ability to weave emotion and narrative without compromising the gameplay experience is present and a welcome improvement to what was thought to be a dying franchise. If you like a proper challenge and a game that looks, plays, and sounds great then you ought to give Rayman Origins a try.

For years the Playstation has been one of the most famous gaming systems of all time. Though many people believe that other gaming consoles are just as good, it is no surprise that the Playstation 3 is leading in gaming sales. They have been around for quite some time now and they continue to make amazing games on a consistent basis. What exactly is about the Playstation 3 that has the whole world wanting more?

The graphics of the Playstation games are incredibly addicting as it seems like you are just watching T.V. This is definitely one of the main reasons why I have been a fan of the Sony system. One of the games that I have been looking forward to is the new game Dead Island. For some reason the zombie games on the Playstation are one of the most exciting games that I can ever play. Though they have games like this on the Xbos 360, I can not help but say that there is no other system better than the Playstation. If you are seriously thinking about buying a new gaming console, I believe that the number one selling Playstation console is the best choice for you.

Call Of Duty Black Ops: Treyarch’s Cold War action epic takes hero Alex Mason to historical hotspots like Vietnam and Cuba. Features great multiplayer modes and zombie levels. DLC includes “Call of the Dead” a map pack based on George A. Romero films.

God Of War 3: The story of Kratos comes to an end in spectacular fashion. The series’ trademark epic battles, gore, puzzles and action set pieces are represented with lifelike graphics.

Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns Of The Patriots: Top notch graphics and an intricate storyline featuring Old Snake vs. Liquid Ocelot. Deep game play along with easter eggs, armories, and unlockable rewards offer tremendous replay value. A PS3 classic.

Red Dead Redemption: The West get wild in this open world action game from Rockstar. Players explore a vast frontier filled with showdowns, stagecoach races and gunfights. Saddle up!

Uncharted 2 Among Thieves: Nathan Drake, the video game version of Indiana Jones, returns in an action-adventure tale with a cinematic presentation. Packed with intense gunfights and car chases, the game hardly pauses to take a breath.

As the first disc-based gaming system, the original PlayStation was a ground breaking piece of hardware in the history of gaming. At the time of its birth, it wasn’t the only company taking part in the great race to achieve a cartridge-less console; the PlayStation just happened to be the first one to succeed. Many disc consoles would come after, but none that would ever have the same level of impact as the original PlayStation.

Combining the fact that the PlayStation is a fifth generation 32-bit console with disc technology replacing the bulkier cartridges of its era that were lacking in space, it should be obvious to anyone that a dramatic increase in graphics, and therefore playability, occurred, spurring more people towards the great past time of gaming. It became so spontaneously engrossing that it was the first system of its kind to ship 100 million units – no small feat for a time we now fondly remember as the dark era of gaming.

But the technology that went into it was meant for another company, who ultimately backed out of it and wouldn’t return to disc gaming for another 7 years. Don’t get me wrong, though. I’m not complaining.

Playstation 2 is indeed still a popular choice, and for several reasons. Not only is the system inexpensive, but the games are as well. Though the newer systems offer superb graphics, the graphics offered on the Playstation 2 are not at all shabby. Hours upon hours of fun can be had with this system, and for a low price.

Each time a new gaming system is introduced, previous versions tend to become obsolete. The reason that Playstation 2 has yet to fall victim to this is because it was so popular for such a long period of time. Though many household now have the new Playstation 3, they simply aren’t willing to part with their Playstation 2.

It may also be that the Playstation 2 has stayed a viable option due to the fact that there are so many games for this system. Now that the price of these games has been slashed, owners of this console can amass a huge collection. This is obviously highly desirable to gamers, as we all love variety.

There is no way to determine how long this console will be around. It may eventually find it’s way into closets and attics across the county. For now, the Playstation 2 remains a popular choice, and the reasons why are clear.
