Final - PSP vs DS
As you can see we have an even amount of victories for each handheld. Although some may be angered at this, our main idea for this head to head battle was to show consumers which handheld would fit their need. At the moment each handheld wins in their own particular way.
Hardware: PSP There is so much packed into the PSP that you have to love it. You can not just play games, but also listen to tunes and watch movies. Over this, the graphics have the potential of being like the PS2. How cool is that?
Also, the PSP has an established underground community of homebrewers playing emulated games.
Games: DS Lite The DS Lite has what Nintendo always promises, awesome games. There are already many playable games of the DS Lite that are looking fantastic. The PSP really needs to catch up to make a good fight for first generation games.
Winner: Nintendo DS Lite!
For the time being, the Nintendo DS Lite has pulled ahead of the Sony PSP because of the games it is churning out. Although the PSP does have a great homebrew emulating community, the actual corporate games from Nintendo are great at the moment.
All in all, both systems have their fair share of weaknesses and strengths and it will be very interesting to see how they will fare as the release for both of them comes closer.
