Internet Access with Sony PSP
It has been looked into and found that most games have browser built-in internet access, so that means that the coding to get into the internet should be directly in the PSP itself. With more intriguing research, PSP hackers and fans have seen that it is very easy to by-pass everything and use the PSP online.
To use the real internet, as in, look up real websites, all you have to do is pretend that you are Sony servers, so the PSP lets you use the internet. The PSP will think you are accessing its internet capabilities to play games, but instead you can now surf the world wide web. This method is called tricking or manipulating DNS. So now instead of going to the games online features, you instead go to a local server which could be configured with any content that was so desired, including a text box that allows you to enter another site name.
Obviously it would be ridiculous for everyone to spoof the servers on their own. So other people have set up IP web portals so that anyone can get onto the Internet through the PSP.
To access these DNS servers, change up your PSP Internet set-up by leaving everything to automatic except for the DNS settings, into which you enter the server settings people have set up.
If you want to play or use your PSP online at home, you will need a wireless internet connection. You will need to buy any of the following, or any other wireless router:
- The cheap: Netgear Wireless 4-Port Router at Amazon.com
- A wireless unit that supports both the old 802.11b and newer (faster!) 802.11g protocols: Linksys Wireless-G Router also at Amazon.com.

The PSP doesn’t work too well with passwords, so leave the password field free for your new wireless router.
