Playstation 2 is indeed still a popular choice, and for several reasons. Not only is the system inexpensive, but the games are as well. Though the newer systems offer superb graphics, the graphics offered on the Playstation 2 are not at all shabby. Hours upon hours of fun can be had with this system, and for a low price.
Each time a new gaming system is introduced, previous versions tend to become obsolete. The reason that Playstation 2 has yet to fall victim to this is because it was so popular for such a long period of time. Though many household now have the new Playstation 3, they simply aren’t willing to part with their Playstation 2.
It may also be that the Playstation 2 has stayed a viable option due to the fact that there are so many games for this system. Now that the price of these games has been slashed, owners of this console can amass a huge collection. This is obviously highly desirable to gamers, as we all love variety.
